Insight Igniter Issue 10: Getting It Right: Aligning Actions with Purpose

Hello Igniters!

Welcome to the 10th issue of the Insight Igniter! We are in double digit territory now! I want to thank everyone who has shown interest in the Igniter questions and my insights providing you a space to explore your own constructs as you journey to become a more complete person, leader and lead a life fully lived.

To mark this occasion, I have a bold and daring question for you to reflect on.

The Insight Igniter coaching question for June 17th, 2024:

“What do you need to get right?”

At the heart of this question lies the pursuit of excellence, aligning our actions with our deepest purpose and aspirations. It challenges us to explore not just the surface-level tasks, but the fundamental alignment to values, clarity of vision and to honor the human dimensions that are the cornerstones to setting our trajectory in achieving our personal goals and delivering business results.

Alignment to Values

Imagine you are standing at the intersection of values and action – what do you see? What do you feel?  To truly get it right, we must ensure that our actions are in harmony with our values. By defining your values and understanding how they can start to influence your actions, you are able to stay true to yourself, as you navigate life's complexities. Take a moment to reflect on your values. What values guide your decisions and actions? What are your non-negotiables?  By aligning your pursuits with your deeply held values, you pave the way for authentic success and fulfillment.

Clarity of Vision

Either by happy accident or purposeful intention, Issue 1 of the Insight Igniter was about defining “What does good look like?” . I feel compelled to revisit the questions as part of this issue. Clarity and focus of vision are essential ingredients in allowing us to make informed, good decisions and actions. Without a clear result in mind, it's easy to lose our way amidst the noise and distractions of everyday life. With precision take time to define your goal, vison, or ambition.  What do you aspire to achieve? What does success look like for you? With a clear vision, we allow ourselves to focus on the vital few rather than the trivial many, navigating through life with confidence and purpose.

The Human Dimension

Getting “it right" encapsulates our desire for excellence. But at what cost? Each action we take has the potential to impact the lives of others. What is the ripple effect of your decision? How will it resonate with those around you? “What do you need to get right?” encourages you to consider to the human dimension when empathy and compassion are required. The human dimension goes beyond conventional right and wrong, good or bad, it encourages flexibility, adaptability, we extend ourselves to consider the emotional response increasing the likelihood of a more positive outcome.

So, dear seekers of excellence, as you ponder the question "What do you need to get right?"   remember to prioritize alignment to values, clarity and focus of vision, and the human dimension. I would like to acknowledge that this question is not for the faint of heart, and I am mindful of the potential stress this may add to a client’s situation. However, with balanced perspective, thoughtfulness and in the appropriate context the question “What do you need to get right?” can deepen self-discovery and significantly enhance the client’s ability to prioritize and achieve success in the pursuit of a life fully experienced.

 Until next issue.

 Best,

 Stefan
